The atmosphere at Cedarhurst of Nicholasville is a dynamic mix of modern and rustic design. The senior living community is located just outside Lexington, Kentucky, and the artwork captures the area’s deep-rooted culture, including the nearby Keeneland horse racing track and other historical landmarks.
The main lobby features an eclectic gallery arrangement of horse-related artwork encompassing the local pastime of horse racing. Assorted imagery and unique frames add texture and dimension to the space. In the private dining room, a collection of illustrated landscapes framed with weighted mats pulls the viewer’s attention to the details of each individual image. An antique map of Kentucky on the adjacent wall provides a different perspective of the state’s boundless landscapes.
The common spaces and corridors blend abstract nature prints with bright local photography. Organic Kalani wood sculptures are arranged above a cozy reading space in the library. In the movie theater, framed black and white photographs depict actors, actresses, and scenes from classic films.
Additionally, the project included 200 interior signs to support enhanced navigation and wayfinding for residents, visitors, and employees.
