Art Commissions in the Spotlight

About the Artwork

Our client envisioned a special art installation for a busy lobby inside Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. The space presented a challenge due to the curved surface of the wall, so ARCH suggested installing a series of paintings to accommodate the irregular wall shape.

Regional artist Julie Joy was commissioned to create four original paintings depicting a forest of native river birch trees. Evidence-based design suggests that nature artwork appeals to a broad audience and is calming and relaxing for all viewers.

The colors and textures of the paintings create a realistic display resembling a wall of windows overlooking a scenic view.
