For Anthology Senior Living of Mayfield Heights, ARCH Design collaborated with architecture and design firm Harley Ellis Devereaux to create a comfortable and modern environment for residents.
The community’s proximity to Lake Erie and the Allegheny National Forest influenced the interior color palette of rich blues and greens to reflect the natural landscape. By bringing in colors and textures from the surrounding nature, the space encompasses the beauty of the outdoors for residents to enjoy. A mix of framed and canvas abstracts, landscapes, and cityscapes incorporate subtle nods to the region’s scenery with a modern, upscale feel.
Our team partnered with Third Degree Glass Factory to create a stunning custom collection of hand-blown glass wall sculptures to accentuate the sophisticated artwork in the great room. Patterned glass wall panels mimic the surface of water add color and texture to the space. Calming abstracts coordinate with the textured glass, resulting in an environment reminiscent of Lake Erie.
A combination of metallic and wood-toned frames complements the artwork and adds visual interest throughout the community. The indoor pool features two oversized gallery-wrapped canvas prints depicting an artist’s representation of swimmers. Black and white photographs of the iconic Ohio Theatre and Playhouse Square add a touch of nostalgia to the theater room.
The resulting modern environment echoes the beauty of the community’s surrounding nature through various textures and tones, bringing the outdoors inside for residents.
We’d like to extend our appreciation to Matt Dula Photography for providing the images used in this portfolio.
