Cedarhurst of St. Charles
Cedarhurst of St. Charles features a blend of local photography and uplifting colorful prints selected for the corridors and common areas. With an interior intentionally constructed to nourish the body, mind and spirit, ARCH Design supplemented this idea of belonging by utilizing local iconography unique to the area. This included featuring photographs of native wildlife, such as the Northern Cardinal and the Eastern Bluebird, as well as local flora, such as Missouri’s flowering dogwood.
The artwork also highlights the greater area’s points of interest such as Busch Stadium, the Gateway Arch and the Missouri Botanical Gardens. Our art consultant worked with a local photographer to select photographs of the historic Main Street of St. Charles, and nearby destinations that are displayed in the foyer. The choice of framing materials was based on accenting the existing interior finishes.
Special care was given when curating artwork for the memory care floor by choosing artwork that conveys a sense of calm and peace. The floor strictly features photography prints due to the benefits of using photographs with memory care residents as they are more recognizable and less likely to cause confusion.
