The Lumiere of Chesterfield
For The Lumiere of Chesterfield, our art consultants developed a senior living art program inspired by the region’s expansive green spaces and iconic landmarks. By blending local history, natural landscapes, and shared traditions, the artwork creates a welcoming space where residents can connect, reflect, and take pride in their community. Scenic artwork depicting wildflowers, open fields, historic farmhouses, and nature trails highlights Chesterfield’s suburban charm. Imagery of St. Louis landmarks, including the Missouri Botanical Garden, Tower Grove Park, and Forest Park, reminds residents of places they know and love.
In a recreation lounge, golf clubs mounted on linen are paired with a watercolor print of the golf course at nearby Forest Hills Country Club. A dimensional display of vintage baseball gloves celebrates St. Louis’s baseball legacy, delighting lifelong Cardinals fans who bond over their shared love of the game.
The dining areas follow a culinary theme, thoughtfully tailored to different levels of care. In the memory care space, wooden kitchen tools are displayed as distinct, recognizable objects to evoke memories of baking or cooking with loved ones. The main dining area features custom artwork created from handwritten recipes layered over bold geometric shapes. The contrast between the flowing script and clean, modern lines forms a dynamic focal point against a white brick backdrop.
To further support and enhance the space, our team designed a custom signage and wayfinding program. More than 400 directional, informational, and regulatory signs were installed throughout the community, enabling residents and visitors to navigate the building with ease.
Together, the artwork and signage enhance the inviting atmosphere and celebrate the community’s identity. This thoughtful approach helps create an environment that feels both personal and easy to navigate for residents, families, and staff.
