Westminster Village of West Lafayette
The artwork at Westminster Village integrates calming colors with abstract prints and pulls natural elements from the environment to create a warm and inviting ambiance for senior living residents and visitors to enjoy.
Framed and canvas prints of abstract landscapes embrace the warm, earthy tones found in the nearby terrain and foliage. Some art pieces have unique framing details, like the float-mounted watercolor prints with deckled edges that add texture and variety to the space. Images of irregular, swirling shapes mimic the movement of the nearby Wabash River, quietly guiding residents through the halls.
The memory care area showcases large, captivating tactile panels to encourage interaction and elicit positive emotions among residents. One piece imitates the smooth surface of water surrounded by multi-colored river rocks. Nearby, a dimensional wall sculpture fashioned from multi-layered wood slats echoes layers of intricate masonry.
Three elaborate displays feature layers of foam roses in shades to complement the interior color palette. The floral panels may evoke joyful memories of receiving blooming flowers from loved ones or tending to rose bushes in a garden. At the end of the hall, a custom graphic shares a hopeful message and incorporates the colors of the faux blooms, unifying the space.
The lounge includes an assortment of artwork highlighting beloved pastimes and activities. Vintage golf clubs are mounted on framed linen to emphasize the worn handles from years of use on the green. Across the room, a set of playing card-inspired prints complements a unique canvas demonstrating different hand rankings in poker.
The unique collection of abstract prints, sculptural elements, and wall decor result in a calming and therapeutic atmosphere for this retirement community.
